Silver Lining Program

The SYTA Youth Foundation’s (SYF) mission is to connect youth with the resources required for travel experiences that will inspire them to be confident, connected, and globally responsible citizens. We believe that TRAVEL CHANGES YOUNG LIVES FOR GOOD, and to that end, the SYTA Youth Foundation strives to provide access to travel opportunities for the maximum number of young people that would otherwise be unattainable due to family or financial challenges.

The SYTA Youth Foundation’s Silver Lining Program was created in 2006 to recognize a group of deserving students who have demonstrated through their action, intention, or circumstance the desire to expand their awareness, creating a dramatic life change.

Travel is a means of personal growth and enrichment to a young person’s complete education and not all youth have access to the resources for travel. The Silver Lining program partners with SYTA’s Annual Conference host city to provide a two night/three day travel experience for youth to participate in an educational trip that combines unique experiences and curriculum.

Over the last 17 years, the Foundation has impacted over 700 students with the Silver Lining Programs. The program would not be successful without the help of our volunteers, the SYTA member companies, and our annual conference host cities. These entities provide in-kind donations and financial resources through its public outreach programs.

What does this program include? The SYTA Youth Foundation donors and program hosts will cover all program costs (within approved budget). We will work with a certified student planner/tour operator to provide transportation, student and trip insurance, admission to all attractions, accommodations and meals.

The SYTA Youth Foundation will work with the group leader and the tour operator to develop a detailed and educational itinerary based on the objectives of the group.

Requirements:

Students must be under the age of 19 at time of travel.
Groups must be within a two hour drive of the SYTA Annual Conference host city. For 2025, this is Savannah, GA.
