ROAD SCHOLARSHIP

Established in 2002, the Road Scholarship program awards funds to students and youth who would otherwise not have the resources to participate in enriching and life-changing travel experience opportunities.

Designed for students in grades K-12 and 18 or younger at the time of travel, a Road Scholarship is financial aid granted to individuals or groups of five or more who have been nominated by a teacher or youth group leader and meet criteria within five categories:

Our next application period will be open September 24 – November 7, 2025. 

Reminders for submitting a scholarship application:

  • The nomination form must be completed by a teacher, group leader etc. Submissions from students, parents or guardians will be ineligible.
  • Address each of the five criteria list above. 
  • Once you submit a nomination, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this, please check your spam or email [email protected] to guarantee your application was successfully submitted.
  • Be sure to hit submit at the bottom of the application. You cannot save and finish later, but you can edit after it has been submitted, up until the closing date of the application period.

The maximum award is $1,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups.  All applications are vetted and awarded by the SYTA Youth Foundation’s Board of Trustees.  By submitting a nomination, you agree to receive communications from Teach & Travel.
