Donate today and help young lives experience the gift of travel.
Join the SYTA Youth Foundation for #GivingTuesday on December 3, 2019, and help provide the gift of travel to youth who would otherwise be unable to afford travel experiences that change lives. Students like Rayna and Daniel need your help to travel beyond the confining walls of the classroom and into the world.
Help us provide a sustainable future for the SYTA Youth Foundation
The SYF Acorn Fund started with a small amount and with nurturing and time grew into a much larger, endowment fund. The SYF Endowment Fund is a protected fund designed to provide an ongoing resource for programs and scholarships. The SYTA Youth Foundation contributes a percentage of its donations annually to this fund and with your help, it can continue to grow. Our goal is to reach $1 million dollars in the endowment fund by December 2020.
After that is reached, the fund provides a permanent source of support for SYF’s mission in challenging times. The SYF Endowment Fund creates an ongoing source of income and continues to grow over time with additional gifts from multiple donors. Donors know that their gifts will have a greater impact over time as the capital is reinvested in the endowment fund. Because a permanent endowment is an invested pool of money that provides a reliable source of income in perpetuity, SYF can count on annual distributions for its charitable work. The funds may be designated for the endowment by the donor or by the Board of Trustees. Like the acorn, every gift no matter the size can grow into an oak tree.
You have what it takes to change a student’s life. This #GivingTuesday, donate to SYF's Endowment Fund!
When you donate, you’re part of an exclusive club travel professionals who care. Here’s why they chose to donate.
“I fully believe our slogan: ‘Travel Changes Young Lives for Good.’ For the past several years, I have chosen to be a contributor at the Benefactor level, as a Wingman and as a table sponsor for the SYF luncheon at the SYTA Annual Conference. I would encourage you to join in supporting this worthwhile cause by making a donation in any amount to SYF on #Giving Tuesday. I’m planning to make an additional contribution that day and invite you to join me in making the difference in a deserve student’s life.” – Andy Davidson, SYF Board of Trustee
“I support SYF because I want kids to experience travel and enjoy its many benefits, just like I got to. Seeing the vastness and diversity of the world changes your perspective. The students SYF benefits are the most in need of the opportunity to see new places, experience new things, meet new people and have their lives changed with a new perspective. As someone who has experienced the benefits of travel in my own life, it is my responsibility and honor to help make sure those kids have that chance as well.” – Ryan Morris, Vice President and CFO, Music Travel Consultants / Educational Destinations
“I support travel that changes young lives for good. Travel exposes children to new things and opportunities, which builds confidence; creates lasting memories; and encourages tolerance for different cultures, flexibility and patience. Travel immerses children in history, which is all around us. The destination may be on a bucket list, but the journey is the best part.” – Sheelagh Wylie, Vice President, Business Development & Head of Trade Sales, Midway Attractions North America
“Can we call it “giving” if a donation is truly an investment into the future success of a young life? Each time I give to SYF—whether it be my time, effort, input or money—I am making a difference in the lives of youth. I wholeheartedly believe that ‘Travel Changes Young Lives for Good’ and this is why I choose to not only serve on the Board of Trustees for SYF, but to donate to SYF! This #GivingTuesday, please consider a donation to SYF. A little goes a long way in changing the life of a young traveler. I urge you to consider a donation this season (or any time of the year) and to truly think about giving to the experiences that shape the future of our youth.” – Melissa Ardales, Business Development, Group Travel Network, Inc.
