Oak trees do not spring up full grown; they start as small acorns.
The SYF Acorn Fund started with a small amount and with nurturing and time, grew into a much larger, endowment fund. The SYF Endowment Fund is a protected fund designed to provide an ongoing resource for programs and scholarships. The SYTA Youth Foundation contributes a percentage of its donations annually to this fund and with your help it can continue to grow. Our goal was to reach $1 million dollars by December 2020 and in August of 2019, SYF exceeded this goal!
Now that this goal is reached, the fund will provide a permanent source of support for SYF's missions in challenging times. The SYF Endowment Fund creates an ongoing source of income and continues to grow over time with additional gifts from multiple donors. Donors know that their gifts will have greater impact over time as the capital is reinvested in the endowment fund. Because a permanent endowment is an invested pool of money that provides a reliable source of income in perpetuity, SYF can count on annual distributions for its charitable work. The funds may be designated for endowment by the donor or by the Board of Trustees. Like the acorn, every gift no matter the size can grow into an oak tree.
